Project
This PhD will investigate nonlinear travelling waves on liquid jets with vorticity and swirl.
Research areas include:
• Nonlinear waves
• Fluid mechanics
• Interfacial flows
• Liquid jets
• Surface tension
• Vorticity and swirl
• Solitary waves
• Stability analysis
• Computational methods
• Ferrofluid jets
The project will develop numerical methods to compute and characterise nonlinear wave solutions, with particular focus on solitary waves and their stability.
The research will also extend these methods to related systems, including ferrofluid jets with vorticity and swirl.
Entry requirements
